My name is Nati Mota and I’m a fashion designer offering fashion design services in the New York Metropolitan area.

My background is in apparel design. I have a B.F.A in Fashion Design and over 5 years experience offering my expertise in fashion design.

The purpose of Nati Mota Fashion LLC is to offer fashion design services using a slow-fashion approach. The term “slow-fashion” refers to the opposite of fast fashion and part of the slow fashion movement advocating for clothing and apparel manufacturing that is sustainable, ethical and environmentally friendly.

My professional practice is based on clothing construction, pattern drafting and fabric manipulation. When sewing garments, I prefer utilizing French seam in most garment finishes in my professional work to enhance garment durability and minimize the risk of rips or repairs. This technique reduces thread waste from using a serger machine which requires a large amount and multiple layers of thread to close the seams.

For the past few years, I have put my experience to practice by offering fashion design services, thus, making face masks during the Covid pandemic, costume made clothing, alteration services and focusing more on creating and producing clothing more sustainably.
